Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Associate Director–Cyberspace Innovation in El Segundo, CA, to lead AI-enabled cybersecurity initiatives. This 4-days-per-week onsite role shapes AI strategies, oversees cyber operations, and partners with DoD and other government/industry stakeholders to advance secure space systems.

You will guide multi‑disciplinary teams and drive strategic objectives. Featuring senior-level responsibilities with direct impact on national security and defense

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data science, electrical engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in cybersecurity, AI/ML, systems engineering, software development, or related fields.
• Proven leadership experience overseeing technical teams in cyber operations, AI/ML development or utilization, and/or defense-oriented projects.
• Strong understanding of AI domains, cyber operations, and strategic impact across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the CS3 cybersecurity and AI initiatives across space and defense domains.
• Provide strategic leadership, staff alignment, and hiring direction for the subdivision.
• Collaborate with DoD, Intelligence Community, NASA and other stakeholders to shape AI-enabled cybersecurity requirements.
• Champion AI/ML integration in cyber operations and influence customer mission needs.
• Oversee product evolution including prototypes, AI/ML model evaluations, and decision support.
