Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Data and AI Capabilities Advisor to provide expert analysis and strategic guidance for DoD data and AI initiatives. Onsite in Arlington, VA, you will lead high-impact studies and coordinate with SAF/SQ, Space Force, and SSC to shape investment and policy decisions.

You will develop technical roadmaps, assess risks, and deliver actionable recommendations while maintaining strong collaboration with government leaders, contractors, and the Aerospace ETG team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• 12+ years of demonstrated technical depth in AI, space systems engineering, or MBSE.
• Proven ability to work with high-functioning teams including government and contractors.
• Understanding of space acquisition and lifecycle processes within DoD/USSF.
• Strong technical writing and executive briefing abilities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide objective, non-advocacy technical advice to the DAF on AI applications across space systems.
• Assess readiness, risk, and integration challenges for AI, ML, autonomy, and cyber tech in space programs.
• Support enterprise capability development and cross-program integration studies.
• Advise on acquisition and integration strategies.
• Develop roadmaps, trade studies, and decision-quality products for SAF/SQ and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with SSC, AFRL, USSF, and other partners for end-to-end technical insight.
• Prepare clear briefs and analyses translating complex work into recommendations.
• Deliver timely responses to staff inquiries and assist with position papers for Congress/IC.
• Collaborate with customer and government leaders to address issues and provide recommendations.
