Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer for the English Language Arts Content Development team in Michigan. You will act as a content and assessment expert to create standards-based K-12 assessments for state and district clients, collaborating with educators and partners to produce accessible materials.

Responsibilities include developing test items, blueprints, and specifications, leveraging AI tools, guiding writers, and supporting customer meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required
• Experience with AI-assisted content development or strong potential to leverage AI effectively
• Familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications and blueprints
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content and assessment development
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in workflows
• Select, manage, and train writers and educators for item development
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise
• Support test construction and review of composed test forms
• Consult with customers in planning and status meetings
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians and Pearson groups
• Stay current with AI technologies relevant to educational content creation
