Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting a Principal Scientist, AI-Native Discovery (Large Molecules) to join the In Silico Discovery team. Located in Spring House, PA (preferred) with options in Cambridge, MA or San Diego, CA, travel may be required.

You will shape AI-native biologics discovery by integrating advanced AI, predictive modeling, and computational design into Therapeutic Discovery programs.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant scientific or technical discipline and 4+ years in drug discovery.
• Experience leading cross-functional discovery teams and communicating complex data clearly.
• Strong expertise in AI, ML, agentic AI, structural modeling, computational biology, or design of biologics.

Responsibilities

• Partner with In Silico Discovery to connect biologics programs with AI-enabled capabilities.
• Collaborate with Biologics Discovery and Therapeutic Area teams to apply AI-driven design and analysis.
• Represent In Silico Discovery on cross-functional teams to support strategy and decision-making.
• Apply predictive modeling, ML, generative approaches, AI agents, and computational biology to guide design and optimization of biologics.
• Advance AI-native workflows linking hypothesis generation, design, testing, and refinement to accelerate learning.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and provide scientific recommendations for internal development, partnerships, or acquisitions.
