Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine seeks a Principal Data Engineer for the Biologics Discovery org. Lead design of discovery data products, data models, and integration to enable AI-ready data across the Biologics ecosystem.

You will collaborate with scientists, AI/ML teams, and enterprise partners to deliver durable, reusable data assets and establish standards that support analytics, ML, and agentic AI workflows. Office locations in Spring House, PA preferred, with NJ options; no remote.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related computational field.
• 8+ years (Bachelor's) / 5+ years (Master's) / 3+ years (PhD) of experience designing data products, data models, analytics-ready datasets.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with cloud data platform experience (Snowflake, AWS, Azure, BigQuery).
• Experience applying FAIR data principles, metadata management, data lineage and provenance.
• Strong leadership and ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and data standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI-ready discovery data products for ML/AI insights.
• Define scalable integration requirements and data schemas.
• Translate scientific needs into data product specs and contracts.
• Define data access patterns for analytics and agentic AI workflows.
• Catalog discovery instruments, data types, and sources for prioritization.
