Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead the design of discovery data products and scientific data models for Biologics Discovery. You will bridge science, data consumers, and technology partners to ensure AI-ready data assets that support analytics, ML, and agentic workflows across enterprise standards.

The role is based at Spring House, Titusville, or Raritan with no remote option, and reports to Biologics Discovery leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related computational field.
• 8+ years (Bachelor's) / 5+ years (Master's) / 3+ years with PhD in relevant data product design.
• Experience designing analytics-ready datasets and data models for pharma/biotech contexts.
• Proficiency with cloud data platforms and data governance practices.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI-ready discovery data products and data models for analytics and ML.
• Define scalable integration requirements, data schemas, and contracts across systems.
• Translate scientific and analytical needs into durable data assets and standards.
• Define data access patterns for analytics and AI workflows, aligned with data standards.
• Catalog data sources and instruments to inform prioritization and integration strategies.
