Job summary

Octave is seeking a Billing Specialist to serve as the primary contact for clients nationwide, handling a moderate volume of billing inquiries while supporting the Revenue Cycle team. The role involves eligibility checks, invoicing, posting payments, insurance claims, and client support across time zones.

You will use Zendesk and other platforms to ensure accurate, empathetic communication, with a focus on process improvements and AI-assisted efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of healthcare administration experience.
• Experience with patient-facing communication tools such as Zendesk, live phone support, or chat platforms.
• Proficient with Google Suite and Mac computers.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and conveys information clearly through timely, warm, and precise communication with clients, clinicians, and Octave staff.
• Perform eligibility checks, generate invoices/super bills, process and post payments daily, submit insurance claims, and respond to clients’ billing inquiries.
• Utilize multiple software systems for eligibility checks, superbills, payments, claims, and patient billing inquiries.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure information is complete, accurate, clear, and concise.
• Conduct follow-up actions to ensure work quality and alignment with goals.
• Communicate effectively with health plans to obtain necessary information and resolve issues.
• Handle incoming client inquiries efficiently, ensuring timely responses and applying specialized knowledge.
• Manage patient statement processing and promptly post payments, ensuring account reconciliation.
• Seek innovative ways to streamline processes and enhance efficiency; leverage AI tools in daily work.
• Aim to improve quality and decision-making through drafting, research, and iteration.
