Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is seeking a Director, Benefits to redefine and lead our comprehensive benefits strategy. Reporting to the Senior Director, Total Rewards, you will shape the portfolio across health, welfare, retirement, and wellbeing with data-driven insights and AI-enabled technology.

You will define a multi-year strategy, oversee vendor relationships and budgets, and build a high-performing team while partnering with HR, Finance, Legal and IT to ensure compliant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
• 10+ years in benefits administration and Total Rewards
• 5+ years in a leadership role
• CEBS or CBP certifications preferred
• Strong negotiation and executive presence

Responsibilities

• Define and drive a multi-year benefits and wellbeing strategy
• Lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of benefit programs
• Oversee benefits vendor strategy, including selection and negotiations
• Manage benefits budget and annual renewals with financial analysis
• Build and mentor a high-performing benefits team
• Partner with HR, Finance, Legal and IT for compliant program delivery
• Architect a modern, AI-enhanced benefits communications strategy
