Job summary

Serval Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to build AI-powered workflows inside our IT and internal ops team, acting as a one-person product team to automate high-volume employee requests.

You will shadow the help desk, identify repetitive tasks, and design scalable automations for onboarding, access provisioning, and security-related workflows.

This role offers growth, ownership, and the chance to shape a new AI product platform at a fast-growing startup.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in automation engineering, IT operations, or related role with a Computer Science or related technical degree (or equivalent practical experience).
• You understand how SSO consolidation, RBAC, and provisioning automation connect and you’re eager to build the skills to sequence them.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make sound judgments with some guidance, balancing priorities and communicating across the company.
• Motivated by ownership and building systems, not just maintaining existing ones.

Responsibilities

• Shadow the IT/help desk to map recurring requests and design automated workflows.
• Lead onboarding, offboarding, and access/software provisioning; automate ticket triage, routing, and escalation.
• Maintain an accurate, agent-ready knowledge base and track impact metrics (deflection rate, time saved, satisfaction).
• Build and evolve Serval workflows for access, provisioning, and recurring tasks; own day-to-day automation operations.
