Job summary

Serval is building an AI-native automation platform that transforms how enterprises run operations. As an Automation Engineer, you will identify high-volume, high-friction internal tasks and design AI agents and workflows to automate them, keeping humans in the loop where judgment matters.

You’ll shadow the help desk, automate onboarding/offboarding, access provisioning, and ticket routing, and then expand to broader governance and security automation across IT and security teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in automation engineering, IT operations, or a related role with a CS degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with identity management (Okta, SAML, SCIM), endpoint management (macOS, Kandji), and SaaS administration.
• Systems thinker able to connect SSO, RBAC, and provisioning automation.
• Able to work with ambiguity and communicate clearly across teams.
• Ownership mindset; eager to build and define systems, not just maintain existing ones.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and tune AI agents that resolve common employee requests without human intervention
• Build onboarding, offboarding, and access/software provisioning workflows
• Automate ticket triage, routing, and escalation
• Maintain an accurate, agent-ready knowledge base
• Track impact: deflection rate, resolution time, hours saved, satisfaction
• Lead identity and access infrastructure: SSO consolidation, RBAC, and SAML/SCIM provisioning
• Drive SaaS and device governance: rationalize the app stack, enforce SSO coverage, eliminate shadow IT
• Own day-to-day automation operations for Serval workflows
• Support security and compliance via access reviews and audit evidence
