Job summary

KPMG invites motivated students to join our Audit Internship, working with our Assurance team to learn financial statement audits and data-driven techniques. You’ll develop technical skills in GAAP, Excel, Alteryx and Power BI while supporting client engagements.

The program emphasizes in-person collaboration, strong ethics, and professional growth, with exposure to diverse clients and real-world assurance challenges.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing Bachelor of Accountancy, Master of Accountancy, or equivalent program.
• Pursuing educational requirements for CPA licensure in the principal place of business.
• Must complete additional academic credits after internship to obtain degree/CPA eligibility.
• Completion of at least one college-level accounting course is required at application.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Coursework or minor in IS, software engineering, CS or data analytics; experience with Alteryx or Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to conduct financial statement audits in the capital markets, uphold objectivity and independence, and evaluate client risks.
• Learn to prepare clear audit documentation and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Execute and document testing of client controls and financial statement balances with appropriate standards.
• Support the execution of a high-quality audit through assigned tasks and professional interactions.
• Support data-driven audit using AI, Excel, Alteryx, SQL and Power BI.
