Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking a Rack Design Engineer to Own the rack as a product—from structure and power to cooling and service paths. You will integrate compute, networking, and liquid cooling, driving both prototype and high-volume production builds with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 2+ years of electromechanical hardware design experience, with CAD proficiency and a background in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years designing electromechanical hardware that was built and shipped.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical, structural, and integration design of high-density AI compute racks and chassis.
• Integrate compute, networking, power distribution, and liquid cooling into a buildable rack architecture.
• Design for in-house manufacturing line: DFM/DFA, fixtures, work instructions, and production ramp.
• Closely coordinate with thermal, electrical, optical, and network teams at the cluster level.
• Produce and maintain CAD, BOMs, drawings, and build documentation for volume production.
• Support deployment of racks including first-site bring-up and feedback into next hardware generation.
