Dentons US LLP is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to design and deliver secure, scalable AI-powered workflows and integrations for legal and business operations in Chicago and DC. You will work with attorneys and business teams to translate needs into practical Copilot Studio and Power Platform solutions, while upholding confidentiality and governance standards.

Qualifications

3–5 years of professional software development experience with a strong coding foundation beyond low-code/no-code.
Proficiency in at least one language such as C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with Git, CI/CD practices, APIs, data structures, integration patterns, and SDLC workflows.
Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) and SharePoint Online.
Familiarity with Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Azure Foundry) and prompt engineering.
Understanding of AI governance, data privacy, security in legal contexts.
Curiosity and builder mindset, ability to evaluate multiple LLM ecosystems and AI tools.
Hands-on experience with AI development tools like Anthropic Claude or OpenAI Codex.

Responsibilities

Design, build, deploy, and maintain AI-augmented workflows, Copilot extensions, plugins, and integrations using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI Foundry, and Microsoft 365.
Evaluate, prototype, and implement secure generative AI solutions for legal and admin use cases (document summarization, contract review support, intake automation, RAG).
Modernize Power Apps and SharePoint solutions, replacing manual workflows with AI-native automation.
Collaborate with attorneys and teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions and proofs of concept.
Develop production-quality code, APIs, integrations, tests, and deployment processes with standard practices.
Ensure solutions comply with confidentiality, data privacy, security, governance for legal practice.
Train staff on new tools with clear documentation and guidance.
Monitor AI landscape and communicate business impact of deployed solutions.
Perform other duties as required.
