Job summary

Howell Construction is seeking an AI & Automation Specialist to join our AI Technology Group in Denver, CO. This entry-level, hands-on role focuses on identifying, building, and implementing AI-driven workflows across Estimating and Project Management, collaborating with department leaders, and learning how to scale automation across the company.

The position requires a recent CS graduate with strong programming skills and real-world AI platform experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong foundational programming and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI platforms and workflow automation tools such as Claude.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Estimating, Project Management and Business Development teams to map workflows for automation.
• Create and integrate data from ERP and PM platforms via an SDK.
• Design, build, and deploy AI-assisted automations reducing manual effort.
• Evaluate AI tools and provide recommendations based on hands-on testing.
• Maintain and support AI solutions as needs evolve; ensure data privacy and security.
• Document workflows and train staff on new processes.
• Track impact of automations and report results to leadership.
• Expand automation to additional business functions as program matures.
