Job summary

Loenbro is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-powered tools within our construction and operations space. This role emphasizes hands-on experimentation and rapid learning, starting with self-contained tools and evolving toward deeper system integration.

You will partner with field teams and IT to identify repetitive processes, shaping AI solutions with guardrails and a focus on data integrity and responsible AI usage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of exposure to data-related work — analytics, BI, data entry, reporting, or supporting data-driven teams.
• 1+ year of active, hands-on experience with AI tools, platforms, or APIs in professional or personal capacity.
• Working experience with Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and/or Google Gemini.
• A portfolio of AI projects demonstrating initiative and results.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy lightweight AI-powered tools and applications to improve operational efficiency across construction and business functions.
• Partner with field teams, operations, and business stakeholders to identify manual, repetitive, or high-friction processes and translate them into AI-driven solutions.
• Develop and iterate on prompt engineering strategies to ensure outputs from large language models are accurate and useful.
• Prototype and test AI workflows using LLM APIs, automation platforms (e.g., Make, Zapier, Power Automate), and custom scripts.
• Build self-contained AI solutions (chatbots, internal assistants, workflow automations) delivering immediate value with minimal system dependencies.
• Integrate AI tools with internal and third-party systems via APIs for scalable workflows.
• Create dashboards or simple apps allowing non-technical users to interact with AI-driven solutions.
• Monitor, evaluate, and improve AI tool performance, reliability, and adoption.
• Implement guardrails and validation to mitigate hallucinations and ensure data integrity.
