Job summary

Modern Family Law seeks an AI Workflow Engineer / Automation Architect to design and implement AI-native workflows and automation across the firm's technology ecosystem. You will build the plumbing powering AI-enabled service delivery, orchestrate workflows, and integrate client portals, CRMs, and document systems.

Collaborate with AI leadership, attorneys, and operations to translate needs into scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in software engineering, CS, information systems, automation engineering, or related field.
• Deep experience in workflow automation, systems integration, software engineering, AI implementation, or automation architecture.
• Production-grade Python and best practices (testing, code reviews, version control, CI/CD).
• Design, build, and optimize AI agent workflows using orchestration frameworks and vector retrieval.
• Strong APIs, orchestration, event-driven systems, and systems integration knowledge.
• Experience with automation platforms or AI infrastructure frameworks.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AI-enabled workflow orchestration systems across legal and operational processes.
• Develop integrations between AI platforms, CRMs, document automation, client portals, and internal tools.
• Build automation pipelines and event-driven workflows for intake, document generation, communication, routing, and escalation.
• Collaborate with Legal Knowledge Engineers and Product Managers to translate workflows into architectures.
• Implement API integrations across third-party and internal systems.
• Develop retrieval, prompt orchestration, and workflow execution for AI agents.
• Assist in scalable architectures for AI-powered client experiences and internal systems.
• Monitor reliability and performance; troubleshoot bottlenecks and issues.
• Participate in security, governance, auditability, and compliance planning.
• Document architectures, maps, and standards; evaluate new automation tech.
