Job summary

Pendo, based in New York City, is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Pendo for Agents product area. You will own the technical direction end to end and be fully accountable for delivery, quality, and the talent pipeline.

You will coach engineers, influence architecture decisions, and partner with Product, Design, Staff and Principal engineers to move quickly without over-building. This role blends hands-on tech with people leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering software.
• Hands-on architecture with AI/LLM systems and tool-calling.
• Background in greenfield or early-stage product areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of engineers; onboarding and development.
• Own end-to-end architecture decisions and build-vs-buy choices.
• Guide delivery across sprint and quarterly planning cycles.
• Partner with Product and Design to ship features with Agile practices.
• Remain hands-on in architecture while mentoring the team.
• Leverage AI tooling to accelerate operations and onboarding.
• Own headcount planning and recruitment with recruiting.
• Foster ownership, safety, and continuous improvement in culture.
