Job summary

Nakupuna Services is seeking a full-time AHERA asbestos inspector to support DoWEA across multiple US installations and international sites. The role entails on-site inspections, sampling, labeling, and reporting to protect students and staff on 45 campuses across the Pacific region.

Candidates must have AHERA credentials, a high school diploma, and at least three years of asbestos inspection experience. Willingness to travel extensively and obtain required clearances is essential.

Qualifications

  • Active AHERA inspector credentials approved by EPA under TSCA/40 CFR Part 763.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of documented asbestos inspection experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of obtaining necessary security background checks.
  • Experience with AHERA methodology and host-nation environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive AHERA visual inspections, re-inspections, and periodic surveillances of ACBM per AHERA requirements.
  • Conduct bulk sampling of asbestos-containing materials and ensure lab analysis (PLM/TEM) per standards.
  • Classify hazard ranks of areas per 40 CFR 763.88.
  • Ensure bilingual labeling in mechanical spaces per EPA requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver 30-Day AHERA Inspection Reports with precise sample locations and quantities.
  • Communicate results to DoWEA Facilities Ops Specialist, COR, RAM, and Program Manager within deadlines.
