Job summary

Nakupuna Services is seeking a full-time AHERA Asbestos Inspector to perform on-site AHERA responsibilities across DoWEA campuses, including travel to Japan, Okinawa, South Korea, and Guam. You will locate, assess, and sample ACMs to protect personnel and students in military installations.

The role requires extensive field experience, AHERA credentialing, and strict adherence to SSHSP/SAP guidelines, with a projected annual compensation range of $110,000–$125,000 USD.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with AHERA inspector credentials.
• Minimum 3 years of documented asbestos inspection experience.
• Familiarity with AHERA methodology and JEGS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual initial inspections, re-inspections, and 6-month periodic surveillances of asbestos-containing materials as per AHERA.
• Conduct bulk sampling and organize laboratory analysis (PLM/TEM) and comply with Japan standards when deployed to Japan.
• Classify hazard rank per 40 CFR 763.88 based on material condition and accessibility.
• Ensure proper labeling of mechanical spaces containing asbestos per EPA requirements.
• Prepare and deliver the 30-Day AHERA Inspection Report and record sampling locations on facility plans.
• Communicate results to stakeholders within 15 days of laboratory analysis.
