Job summary

Nakupuna Services is seeking a full-time AHERA Asbestos Inspector to support the DoWEA Team across 21 U.S. military installations in the Pacific region, including travel to Japan, Okinawa, South Korea, and Guam.

The role focuses on locating, assessing, and sampling ACM to protect students and staff, with mandatory AHERA credentials. The position requires up-to-date AHERA training, at least three years of asbestos inspection experience, and willingness to deploy regularly.

Qualifications

• Extensive field experience identifying, sampling, and assessing asbestos in facilities.
• Knowledge of AHERA methodology and host nation standards (JEGS).
• Adherence to SSHSP and SAP requirements.
• Compliance with licensing and EPA/host nation rules for deployment.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections, re-inspections, and 6-month surveillances of ACM per AHERA requirements.
• Conduct bulk sampling and coordinate lab analysis (PLM/TEM).
• Classify hazard ranks per 40 CFR 763.88 and label mechanical spaces accordingly.
• Prepare and submit 30-Day AHERA Inspection Reports with precise sampling locations and materials.
• Disseminate results to DoWEA team and stakeholders within defined timelines.
