Job summary

Nakupuna Services is seeking a full-time AHERA Asbestos Inspector to support the DoWEA Team across multiple DoWEA educational campuses. The role involves executing on-site AHERA field requirements, locating, assessing, and sampling ACM to protect military-connected students and staff, with travel to the Pacific Region including Japan, Okinawa, and other locations.

The incumbent must conduct inspections, sampling, labeling, and reporting while ensuring compliance with AHERA, JEGS, SSHSP, and EPA

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent with AHERA Inspector credentials.
At least 3 years of documented asbestos inspection experience.
Active EPA-approved AHERA Inspector accreditation.
Ability to travel to multiple installations and deployments.

Responsibilities

Inspections & Surveillance: perform visual inspections, re-inspections, and 6-month surveillances of ACM per AHERA (40 CFR Part 763).
Sampling & Analysis: collect bulk samples and analyze with PLM and TEM; report trace concentrations per JEGS when deployed to Japan.
Hazard Assessment: classify hazard rank per 40 CFR 763.88 based on material condition and accessibility.
Labeling: ensure bilingual placards/labels in mechanical spaces per EPA requirements.
Reporting & Deliverables: compile data for 30-Day AHERA Inspection Report and submit within 30 days.
Stakeholder Communication: share results with DoWEA stakeholders within 15 days of lab analysis.
