The Ohio State University is seeking a Fayette County Agronomy Summer Student to support research, outreach, and demonstration activities across the Fayette County ANR programs. The student will gain hands-on experience in agronomy, soil science, crop production, and extension programming while collaborating with OSU Extension educators and field specialists.

Responsibilities include data collection, plot management, field days, social media promotion, and travel to central and southwestern Ohio

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an agriculture, environmental, natural resources, or related degree program.
Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Able to work independently and in a team; demonstrates good judgment and integrity.

Responsabilités

Assist with research, demonstration, and Extension activities at the Fayette County Research and Demonstration Farm and statewide eFields projects.
Collect field data and samples (soil, plant, crop), establish and maintain plots, scout, and evaluate.
Manage research records (data entry, organization, quality control).
Support agronomy outreach (field days, programs, social media, promotions).
Assist with farm operations and equipment maintenance (mowing, plot upkeep, site prep).
Travel to research locations across central and southwestern Ohio as needed.
