Ohio State University Fayette County is seeking a Student Assistant 2 to support agronomy research, demonstration, and outreach projects. The role involves hands-on work at the Fayette County Research and Demonstration Farm, collecting field data, and helping with plot establishment, maintenance, and evaluations.

You will assist with data entry, records management, and support outreach efforts, including field days and social media.

Formación

• Enrolled in an agriculture, environmental, natural resources, or related degree program.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and with others.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with research, demonstration, and Extension activities at the Fayette County Research and Demonstration Farm and through statewide eFields projects.
• Collect field data and samples, including soil, plant, and crop observations, while assisting with plot establishment, maintenance, scouting, and evaluation.
• Manage research records through data entry, organization, and quality control.
• Support agronomy outreach efforts, including field days, educational programs, social media, and promotional communications.
• Assist with farm operations and equipment maintenance, including mowing, plot upkeep, and preparation of research sites.
• Travel to research and demonstration locations throughout central and southwestern Ohio as needed.
