Job summary

AgVantage FS in Maquoketa, IA, is seeking a Spring/Summer 2027 Exploring Agriculture Agronomy Operations Intern to learn the FS and GROWMARK system. You will gain hands-on experience in agronomy, assist with equipment maintenance, and build professional relationships with customers.

The program emphasizes training in crop nutrition, crop protection, field operations, and inventory control, with travel and CDL/licensing opportunities as part of development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree or certification from a college or university and in good academic standing.
• Preferred candidates going into their first or second year of college.
• Ability to obtain CDL and commercial applicator’s license with endorsements, a satisfactory driving record, and a medical card.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Essential abilities: communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight travel.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to participate in required training on company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations.
• Assists with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Visits FS locations and customers, building professional relationships.
• Operates field research and crop monitoring equipment for scouting.
• Applies crop nutrition and crop protection products.
• Gains understanding and experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
