Job summary

CHS Inc. in Hazel, Minnesota seeks an Agronomy Sales Representative to drive fertilizer and crop protection sales, build relationships with farmers and cooperatives, and implement customized agronomy solutions.

You will collaborate with marketing, distribution, and technical staff to develop plans, present proposals, and grow share of wallet while upholding safety and ethical standards. This role requires a proactive sales mindset, strong math skills, and a BA preferred; a valid driver's license

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or GED required.
• At least 2+ years of sales, business development, or related experience.
• Agronomy sales experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business, or related field preferred.
• Outside sales experience including presentations and negotiation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Pre-employment screenings may be required.

Responsibilities

• Execute sales plans to achieve goals and profitability through sales, marketing and consulting processes for products and services.
• Evaluate current customer programs and develop sales and marketing plans and programs to meet complex business needs while growing the business.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, distribution, operations, technical staff, and credit to heighten visibility and impact of sales calls and improve efficiency.
• Facilitate positive long-term relationships with suppliers and customers to create long-term repeat business; identify needs and provide consultative services.
• Prepare sales presentations, contracts, bids, and proposals to ensure successful outcomes; provide training to staff and customers.
• Demonstrate effective cross-selling to increase customer share of wallet across multiple product lines.
• Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner; service complaints and inquiries; lead sales projects.
• Develop knowledge of multiple products and apply this knowledge; maintain a strong safety culture and follow safety policies.
• Other duties as needed or assigned.
