Job summary

If you enjoy being outside and are seeking hands-on Agronomy experience, the Exploring Agriculture Agronomy Operations Intern role is for you. You will gain exposure to field research, crop monitoring, and hands-on maintenance while learning the foundations of the System and industry under location management.

Expect to visit FS locations, build professional relationships, and participate in training that supports your development toward a future career.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree or certification and in good academic standing at internship start.
• Must have ability to obtain CDL and commercial applicator’s license with endorsements.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and good communication skills.
• Demonstrates decision making and customer-focused abilities.
• Must maintain valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Must be able to travel independently and overnight when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations.
• Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Visit FS locations and customers, building professional relationships.
• Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment for scouting.
• Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
• Gain understanding of ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
