Job summary

Central Valley Ag, located in Shelby, NE, seeks a Safety and Compliance Director to lead the development of the cooperative's safety policy and culture. This full-time professional role focuses on aligning policies with federal, state, and local regulations to ensure a safe workplace across CVA's network.

The candidate will implement OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations, coordinate training, audits, and incident investigations, and mentor staff on safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a related field and/or 2–5 years’ experience.
• Hold a valid driver's license.
• Strong understanding of safety in agriculture.
• Professional communication with internal operations and external customers.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a safety-focused environment.
• Basic computer skills and quick learning of new software.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage resources to meet deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Ethical standards and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety policies and programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
• Coordinate safety training and audits of facilities and equipment.
• Investigate incidents and implement preventative measures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring on safety initiatives.
• Coordinate safety programs with Talent Team Manager and Location Manager.
• Maintain safety inventory and supplies.
• Lead safety communications across the cooperative.
