Job summary

Central Valley Ag, a farmer-owned cooperative headquartered in York, Nebraska, is seeking a Safety and Compliance Director to lead safety policy development and ensure regulatory alignment across operations in Shelby, NE.

The role requires implementing OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations, conducting audits, coordinating training, investigating incidents and promoting a culture of safety throughout the cooperative.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a related field is required or 2–5 years of experience in a related role.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build professional relationships.
• Knowledge of safety practices and compliance in agriculture is preferred.
• Ability to perform safety-related calculations and basic accounting concepts.

Responsibilities

• Implement OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations and communicate necessary information to all areas of the cooperative.
• Foster a working environment that supports a safe and healthy culture.
• Coordinate worker safety training and use of safety equipment.
• Conduct safety audits and inspect facilities for compliance.
• Investigate incidents and manage return-to-work processes.
• Provide technical safety guidance to employees and mentors to safety committees.
• Plan and execute compliance programs with relevant departments.
• Direct safety-related work and address complaints with the Location Manager.
• Maintain safety inventory and supplies.
