This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
• Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assignedsections in accordance with department and divisional policies
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse students’ needs
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Cannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

• Minimum of a master’s degree in horticulture, greenhousemanagement or equivalent required
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
• Professionalism and outstanding written and oral communicationskills required
• Ability to effectively use technology required
• Preference will be given to candidates with teaching ortraining experience in horticulture or greenhouse management withevidence of quality performance
• Demonstration of willingness to pursue professional developmentactivities required
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student populationrequired
• Ability to teach in a face-to-face environment required
