Job summary

Howden North America is seeking an Agriculture Modeler to join the catastrophe analytics team to advance models for the U.S. crop insurance and reinsurance markets. The role targets quantitatively minded scientists with physics/math/statistics or related technical backgrounds.

Responsibilities include data prep, portfolio analysis, yield model development for crops like corn, soybeans, and wheat, and implementing stochastic and ML-based approaches for risk assessment and forecasting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of research and quantitative modeling experience.
• Experience with data analysis, validation, and visualization.

Responsibilities

• Execute agriculture modeling, data prep, validation, and reporting.
• Develop crop yield models for major U.S. crops.
• Design stochastic yield simulations and ML/statistical approaches for yield prediction and risk assessment.
• Develop in-season crop yield forecasting using weather, forecasts, and remote sensing.
