Howden is seeking an Agriculture Modeler to join its catastrophe analytics team in the United States. The role focuses on advancing agriculture modeling for US crop insurance and reinsurance markets, requiring strong quantitative skills and programming in Python and/or R.

The candidate should have 4+ years in quantitative modeling, knowledge of crop insurance, and the ability to work with weather/climate datasets. Legally authorized to work in the US is required.

Formación

• 4+ years of research and quantitative modeling experience developing statistical/predictive/simulation models.
• Proficiency in data analysis, manipulation, and visualization with Python/R.

Responsabilidades

• Execute all aspects of agriculture modeling including data prep, validation, portfolio analysis, and reporting.
• Develop crop yield models for major US crops (corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton, sorghum, rice).
• Design stochastic yield simulations using probabilistic techniques and ML.
• Develop in-season yield forecasting models using weather data, climate forecasts, remote sensing, vegetation indices, and soil moisture.
• Improve analytical processes to benefit clients and address market needs.
• Present results and respond to queries on exposure data, risk views, and portfolio profitability.
