Job summary

Capital Insurance Group in Spokane, WA seeks an Underwriting Specialist to evaluate small to middle market agribusiness risks within a defined territory. You will build strong agency relationships to develop new business opportunities and maintain profitable renewals.

The role requires five to ten years of underwriting experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage workloads with limited supervision. A valid driver’s license and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• College degree (or equivalent experience) and five to ten years of progressively challenging experience in underwriting small to medium risks.
• Completion of technical insurance coursework like AFIS, CPCU, AU, ARM, CRM or CIC is preferred.
• Ability to apply underwriting principles and manage workload with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate small to middle market agri business risks within a defined territory.
• Build strong agency relationships to develop new business and retain profitable renewal book.
• Produce and analyze submissions; ensure compliance with company guidelines and policies.
• Make production calls and develop new business opportunities with top or middle tier agents.
