Job summary

County of Berks, PA is seeking an Aging Services Manager to oversee quality assurance and program improvement across the agency. The role focuses on protecting services intake and supervising diverse programs to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

You will develop QA systems, train staff, review reports, and participate in case conferences with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective service delivery to older adults.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in public or private social work.
• Two years of case work experience, including one year of assessments of clients' functional ability to determine needs for services.
• Certification by the Commonwealth of PA as a certified assessor obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Valid state-issued Driver's License.
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Substitutions: related education or experience may replace parts of the requirement.

Responsibilities

• Establish procedures and guidelines for quality assurance across all Agency Departments to align with program requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain QA systems, train staff, address quality issues, and foster continuous improvement.
• Screen, review, and assign reports of need.
• Provide clinical supervision and programmatic oversight to Agency staff.
• Support Protective Services through screening and case assignment.
• Acquire and maintain certification as a Protective Services worker; may take on duties as needed.
• Review case records for completeness and adherence to standards.
• Participate in case conferences with staff and external agencies, providers, and consumers when needed.
• Convene meetings regularly and participate in required agency meetings.
• Provide routine backup to other supervisors and support after-hours on-call staff.
• Represent the Agency in media and at events as required.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards and confidentiality.
