Qualifications

• Knowledge of the physical, cultural, and social aspects of the assigned community.
• Ability to obtain, evaluate, and analyze information from interviews, reports, records, and other sources.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
• Ability to learn about Area Agency on Aging Programs and services of other agencies.
• Ability to communicate verbally with older persons.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic computations.
• Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and persuasively to elderly clients.
• Ability to clearly express ideas verbally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Responsibilities

• Attends supervisory conferences and unit meetings as scheduled.
• Attends trainings locally or out-of-town as approved.
• Cooperates with co-workers and other divisions to serve shared consumers.
• Acts as a contact for banks and assists with financial information gathering in exploitation cases.
• Obtains state reporting forms and incident reports from facilities.
• Completes home visits and runs errands to assist consumers.
• Keeps resource information current and processes PS notifications in SAMS.
• Follows up with physicians for reports and schedules evaluations; assists with relocation and housing tasks.
