Job summary

The 92nd Street Young Men’s and Young Women’s Hebrew Association seeks an experienced Social Worker to support the Himan Brown Program. You will provide psychosocial care, coordinate services, and help promote well-being and engagement for older adults in a collaborative, family-like environment.

Responsibilities include counseling, program development, supervising interns, and connecting members with community resources.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited school and current licensure required.
• SIFI Certificate and/or willingness to become a SIFI supervisor.
• Strong understanding of psychosocial issues affecting older adults.
• Knowledge of community resources, benefits, entitlements, and referral networks.
• Experience facilitating groups and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive counseling, advocacy, information, and referrals for members.
• Monitor member well-being and engagement, connecting to resources and supports.
• Welcome and orient new members, support recruitment and retention.
• Facilitate support, bereavement, and discussion groups.
• Develop educational programs and lectures on topics for older adults.
• Support member committees and coordinate volunteer initiatives.
• Coordinate and expand Social Rx program to reduce isolation.
• Supervise social work interns and student volunteers.
• Build relationships with community organizations to strengthen resources.
• Assist with day-to-day operations and contribute to new initiatives.
