Job summary

The Himan Brown Program at 92nd Street Y seeks a dedicated Social Worker to provide psychosocial support, care coordination, and resource navigation for about 650 older adults on the Upper East Side. With an MSW and current licensure, you will lead counseling, group facilitation, program development, and supervise interns while expanding services to reduce isolation and enhance member well-being.

The role is 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 9:00am-6:00pm, with compensation in the $60k–$70k range,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited school and current licensure.
• SIFI Certificate and/or willingness to become a SIFI supervisor.
• Strong understanding of psychosocial issues affecting older adults.
• Experience facilitating groups and coordinating programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive counseling, advocacy, information, and referrals for members.
• Monitor member well-being and engage with community resources and long-term supports.
• Welcome and orient new members, support recruitment and retention.
• Facilitate support, bereavement, and discussion groups.
• Develop educational programs and lectures on topics for older adults.
• Supervise social work interns and student volunteers.
• Coordinate and expand the Social Rx program for older adults on the Upper East Side.
• Collaborate with colleagues to build volunteer initiatives and strengthen community resources.
• Assist with day-to-day operations and contribute to new program initiatives.
