Job summary

MAXIMUS is seeking a proactive Scrum Master to enable cross-functional technology squads in delivering customer and business value with strong focus on quality, security and operational readiness. You will coach teams, remove impediments, and maintain clear delivery metrics to drive predictability and improvement.

You will mentor product owners and stakeholders, facilitate ceremonies, and promote DevOps and AI-enabled productivity tools where appropriate.

Qualifications

Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master I/II, or equivalent agile delivery qualification.
Agile coaching, Kanban, Lean, Product or DevOps certification is desirable.
SAFe or other scaled-delivery certification is desirable.
Equivalent experience within technology, digital, software engineering or product delivery environments.

Responsibilities

Facilitate effective Scrum ceremonies, coach squads in agile principles and behaviours, promote self-organisation and ownership, and help product owners and delivery teams maintain focus on customer and business value.
Identify, manage and remove delivery impediments, improve team flow and predictability, support capacity and release planning, coordinate cross-squad dependencies and help squads balance pace, quality, and operational resilience.
Mentor squad members, product owners and stakeholders in agile practices, facilitate collaborative problem-solving, challenge ineffective ways of working and ensure improvement actions arising from retrospectives, delivery data and feedback are owned and delivered.
Use delivery measures to identify risks, improve squad performance and provide meaningful delivery dashboards and stakeholder insights.
Build relationships across technology and the wider Maximus organisation, translate delivery challenges into business impacts, communicate progress and dependencies, and facilitate informed planning and decision-making.
Promote DevOps, continuous-delivery, automation, customer-centered and outcome-based practices, support use of delivery platforms and responsible AI-enabled productivity tools.
Maintain delivery information in the platform as truth, and ensure risks, assumptions, issues and decisions are recorded and escalated.
