Uber is seeking an Agentic Software Engineer to design, build, and operate production-grade agentic systems that improve complex operational workflows. You will embed with teams, own solutions from discovery to production rollout, and partner with Security, Privacy, and Legal to ensure safe, auditable actions.

The role blends backend engineering, reliability, and a forward-deployed model, with opportunities to influence architecture and scale usable capabilities across the organization.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math or 1-year software engineering experience.
• Strong experience designing and building production backend or distributed systems.
• Experience owning and improving production systems, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, failure recovery, and debugging.
• Experience integrating LLMs with tools, APIs, enterprise data, and permissioned systems.

Mansioni

• Embed with operational teams to understand workflows and identify agentic improvements.
• Design, build, and iterate on production agentic systems, including agents, services, data pipelines, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Define reliability targets and build observability across agent decisions, model behavior, dependencies, and workflow outcomes.
• Own systems in production, improving performance, resilience, and reliability.
• Define evaluations and controls for task completion, output quality, tool selection, and safety, with auditability and recoverable actions.
• Identify reusable capabilities and contribute to architecture, tooling, and standards for scalable deployment.
