Job summary

Level in Austin, TX is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to design and build agentic workflows and production systems. You will own prompts, tools, retrieval, guardrails, observability, cost and latency budgets, and rollout.

You will provide governance and safety guidance around AI designs, automate SME workflows with partner teams, and hand off features with documentation, eval harnesses, and dashboards to production teams, enabling safe adoption across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building agentic systems in production.
• Strong Python expertise and production-grade service skills.
• Experience with AI governance, safety, and compliance.
• Track record shipping LLm-powered features in production.

Responsibilities

• Ship production agentic systems end to end with ownership of prompts, tools, and rollout.
• Provide governance and security guidance for AI designs and usage.
• Automate SME workflows by identifying high-leverage tasks and replacing with AI systems.
