Job summary

IRIS is seeking a Principal Engineer to accelerate AI-driven, agentic software development across its engineering organisation. This hands-on individual contributor role works directly with engineering teams to embed new AI-powered development practices into daily delivery.

The successful candidate will diagnose blockers, build a best-practice library, and collaborate with Directors of Enterprise Agility and Agentic AI to shape tooling decisions, adoption strategies, and measurable productivity

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with agentic development tooling in a professional engineering context.
• Strong software engineering background across at least one primary language and stack.
• Experience working across multiple teams or contexts simultaneously and building credibility quickly.

Responsibilities

• Embed with pod teams across divisions, enabling adoption of agentic tooling and workflows.
• Diagnose blockers to agentic adoption and solve problems with teams, not for them.
• Build and maintain a living library of best practices and reusable patterns.
• Partner with leadership to align technical and human change elements of adoption.
• Support configuration and integration of agentic tooling within divisional environments.
• Evaluate agentic tooling options with real adoption data and evidence-based recommendations.
• Create and share a library of common agentic skills and workflows.
