Job summary

Farmers Insurance is recruiting for an Agent Trainee to learn a recession-proof insurance business from the ground up. You’ll gain hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities to build a career in a high-performance environment.

The role focuses on sales, client support, licensing, and operational tasks within a busy agency. Candidates should be self-motivated, coachable, and comfortable outbound calling to grow a book of business.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to learn.
• Ability to work in a goal-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable making outbound calls and meeting with clients.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with email, spreadsheets, and CRM tools.
• Must obtain state insurance licenses (Property & Casualty and/or Life, Health, and Accident).

Responsibilities

• Learn to identify customer insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage options.
• Assist in generating new business through outbound calls, community networking, and digital outreach.
• Provide exceptional service to prospective and existing clients, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
• Shadow experienced agents during client meetings, policy reviews, and consultations.
• Follow up with leads, schedule appointments, and track pipeline progress using CRM tools.
• Participate in structured on-the-job training and mentorship programs.
• Attend coaching sessions and team workshops to improve sales and product knowledge.
• Stay up to date on insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and compliance regulations.
• Assist with preparing quotes, processing applications, and managing client documentation.
• Learn to navigate agency software and underwriting systems.
• Support agency marketing efforts including email campaigns, events, and social media outreach.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold the agency’s standards of professionalism.
