Cavendish Professionals is seeking an Agent Platform Engineer in New York to design and scale the core infrastructure powering AI agents that automate complex healthcare workflows. You will work at the intersection of backend engineering and distributed systems to build production-grade, reliable, scalable platforms.

The role focuses on TypeScript/Node backend development, API design, and building observability tools to boost AI agent performance in fast-growing environments.

Competenze

• 4+ years of backend or infrastructure software engineering experience.
• Strong programming experience with TypeScript / Node.
• Bonus if you work with Go, Java, Kotlin, or Rust.
• Strong knowledge of API design, relational databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience in high-growth startups or technically demanding engineering environments.
• Comfortable using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
• Computer Science degree preferred, or equivalent experience in a high-calibre engineering environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of backend engineering, distributed systems, and agentic AI, building reliable, production-grade technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend services and infrastructure using TypeScript.
• Build reliable APIs, background jobs, and event-driven systems.
• Develop evaluation, monitoring, and observability tools to improve AI agent performance.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to build reusable platform capabilities.

Requirements

• 4+ years of backend or infrastructure software engineering experience.
• Strong programming experience with TypeScript / Node
