Job summary

InterEx Group is seeking an experienced Agentic Platform Lead to architect a scalable AI/agent platform, building developer infrastructure and leading an engineering team. You will stay hands-on with backend services and APIs while guiding platform adoption across products.

This senior, hands-on leadership role focuses on platform architecture, orchestration infrastructure, and security/governance to enable autonomous product development and deployment of AI features.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in platform engineering or distributed systems.
• Experience scaling multi-tenant platforms and developer infrastructure.
• Strong API design and developer tooling experience.
• Hands-on with cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure) and backend stacks.

Job description

We’re working with a growing technology organisation looking for an Agentic Platform Lead to build the infrastructure powering AI agents across a portfolio of products.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who can architect scalable platforms, build developer infrastructure and lead an engineering team, while remaining close to the code.

What you’ll be doing

• Own the architecture and delivery of a scalable AI/agent platform
• Build infrastructure for agent orchestration, APIs, security, monitoring and governance
• Create platform capabilities that allow product teams to independently develop and deploy AI features
• Make key technical decisions around architecture, build vs. buy and emerging AI technologies
• Lead, mentor and grow the platform engineering team, including hiring
• Work directly with product and engineering teams to drive platform adoption
• Remain hands-on with backend services, APIs and platform development

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years in platform engineering, distributed systems or similar
• Proven experience building and scaling multi-tenant platforms or developer infrastructure
• Strong full-stack development experience across backend, APIs and web applications
• Strong API design and developer tooling experience
• Experience architecting complex workflows and stateful systems
• Experience leading technical teams and hiring engineers
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
• Strong experience with modern backend technologies such as Python, Java, C#, Node.js or similar
• Experience with observability, debugging, reliability and production systems

Nice to have

• Experience building AI/ML or agentic platforms
• LLM orchestration frameworks and agent architectures
• MCP or similar extensibility patterns
• Multi-agent systems and task delegation
• Developer experience and platform adoption

This is a 3-month contract-to-hire opportunity, with the expectation of moving into a permanent position for the right person.
