Job summary

Storm3 is seeking a senior backend/platform engineer to own scalable APIs and the infrastructure powering AI-driven experiences. You will design, build, and operate services powering products, partner integrations, and agent-based applications.

This role emphasizes ownership, observability, incident response, and collaboration across security, infrastructure, product, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable AI-enabled platforms for enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with backend and API design.
• Expertise in REST, GraphQL, or gRPC and distributed systems.
• Production experience with Python, Go, Node.js, TypeScript, or Ruby on Rails in AWS.
• Proven track record mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong communication across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
• Experience owning observability, incident response, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate APIs and services powering products, partner integrations, and AI-driven experiences.
• Create a best-in-class platform for AI agents and developers with clear schemas, predictable behavior, strong guardrails, and robust observability.
• Define agent-facing infrastructure, including tool definitions, agent protocols, authentication, authorization, auditing, and safety controls.
• Own services end-to-end, from architecture and deployment through monitoring and operational excellence.
• Improve the developer experience for internal teams, external partners, and engineers building on the platform.
• Drive technical standards around API design, versioning, authentication, rate limiting, and observability.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and help elevate engineering culture.
• Partner closely with security and infrastructure teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
