Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in agency bill, premium accounting, or insurance billing/collections.
• Strong relationship-management skills; able to build trust with agency partners and influence behavior without direct authority.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail when reconciling premium, commission, and fee discrepancies.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; comfortable training external agency staff on billing requirements and portal use.

Responsibilities

• Owns the agency bill book and serves as the primary contact for billing matters with agency partners.
• Reconciles account current statements against carrier and agency records, and resolves discrepancies.
• Tracks and follows up on outstanding balances, past-due items, and unremitted premium.
• Supports month-end close by providing reconciliation data and summaries.
• Identifies process improvements to accelerate cash application and reduce reconciliation exceptions.
• Coordinates with agencies and underwriting to resolve billing disputes and educate on submission requirements.
