Job summary

H2ajobs in Texas is seeking agricultural workers to assist with daily farm functions, including operating equipment for planting, spraying, cultivating, fertilizing and harvesting, plus maintenance of machinery, irrigation systems, grain handling, and grounds. This is a physically demanding role with long days in the heat and possible weekend or holiday work.

Housing and meals are provided, transportation to and from work is arranged, and a valid US driver’s license is required within two weeks

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 2 months of farm labor experience preferred.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and performing extended manual work in varying weather.

• Maintain machinery and repair/prepare equipment as needed.
• Maintain flood and sprinkler irrigation systems and assist with grain handling.

Job description

Duties may include: Assist with daily farm functions including but not limited to the following: operate various equipment, for planting, spraying, cultivating, fertilizing and harvesting of crops. Maintain machinery. Maintain flood and sprinkler irrigation systems. Grain handling. Maintain farm grounds/mow. Other miscellaneous duties assigned. This job involves manual labor, lifting, carrying, long days in the heat. Rain days are typically spent in the shop repairing equipment and preparing for the next days’ work & other related Ag Equipment Operator activities as per SOC/OES 45-2091 (onetonline.org). Crops: corn, cotton, sorghum, wheat

Possible weekend/holiday work.

The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Depending on housing location, worker may have a kitchen available for use. In that case, The employer will furnish cooking facilities, utilities, and utensils for workers to prepare their own meals in the housing provided kitchen. Included basic appliances will consist of, but is not limited to, refrigerator, stove/oven, and sink with hot and cold-water connections. All appliances included will be in good, working condition for the workers. Employer will provide transportation to grocery store at least once a week for workers who wish to shop for food.

Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved in traveling (a) to the place of employment from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer (i.e., inbound) and (b) from the pl...
