Job summary

H2ajobs in Iowa is seeking workers to operate and tend agricultural equipment such as tractors, combines, trucks and irrigation gear to plant, cultivate, harvest, and move crops from field to farm or market.

You will load and unload crops, perform basic maintenance, keep work areas clean, and comply with safety rules. Housing and meals are provided, with transport to groceries; weekend/holiday work may be required.

Qualifications

• 3 months experience in agricultural labor.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to work in variable weather conditions.
• Must obtain a valid US driver2s license within 2 weeks of reporting to work.

Job description

Duties may include: Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, trucks, and irrigation equipment to aid in planting, cultivating, harvesting, and hauling harvested commodities from field to farm or to market. Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Maintain, adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Clean and maintain work areas and equipment, & other related Ag Equipment Operator activities as per SOC/OES 45-2091 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Depending on housing location, worker may have a kitchen available for use. In that case, The employer will furnish cooking facilities, utilities, and utensils for workers to prepare their own meals in the housing provided kitchen. Included basic appliances will consist of, but is not limited to, refrigerator, stove/oven, and sink with hot and cold-water connections. All appliances included will be in good, working condition for the workers. Employer will provide transportation to grocery store at least once a week for workers who wish to shop for food. Otherwise, 3 meals per day will be provided to those workers who do not have access to free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities (all workers who are residing in public accommodations).

Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved in traveling (a) to the place of employment from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer (i.e., inbound) and (b) from the pl... Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 30lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area.
