Job summary

H2ajobs in Roxton, Texas is seeking hardworking farmworkers to assist with daily farm functions including operating equipment for planting, spraying, cultivating, fertilizing and harvesting. You may also load/unload trucks, maintain machinery, and support ground maintenance on fields and housing areas.

Cattle care and various farm tasks are included, with possible weekend/holiday work. Housing provided; meals are provided at a daily charge if used.

Job description

Duties may include: Assist with daily farm functions including but not limited to the following: Operate various farm equipment for planting, spraying, cultivating, fertilizing, and harvesting of crops. Load/unload trucks. Grooming grounds on orchard, harvesting pecans during winter. May involve climbing ladders, grain bins etc. Maintain machinery, i.e. change fluids in equipment, rotate tires, clean grain bins, wash vehicles, change brakes, check tire pressure, general maintenance, etc. Ground maintenance on farm and/or housing, i.e. weed eating, mowing. Maintain/clean shop area. Precondition and maintain cattle: Monitor birthing of baby calves, hay all cattle, haul water to cattle, mix feed, monitor health, vaccinate, rotate cattle between pastures. Operate feed truck/pay loader. Clean pens. Maintain fence. Manure hauling. May haul cattle to market. Crops: Wheat, corn, pecans 30 minute meal break & other related Ag Equipment Operator activities as per SOC/OES 45-2091 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

Wage may vary based on experience and at employer's discretion.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: 3 meals per day will be provided to those workers who do not have access to free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities (all workers who are residing in public accommodations). Workers who are provided 3 meals a day will be charged $16.78 per day for those meals on the days that they choose to utilize the meal service. All meals will include a daily source of protein, vitamins, and minerals.

Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved in traveling (a) to the place of employment from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer (i.e., inbound) and (b) from the pl... Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area.
