Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation is seeking an Hourly YouthCity Program Instructor II to supervise elementary and middle school youth and implement YouthCity program goals.

The role supports the afterschool program through the 2026-2027 school year with potential continuation into the 2027 summer program. Responsibilities include teaching, supervision, and data collection to meet program objectives.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent and at least 21 years of age.
• Experience working with school-aged children, middle school youth, or related experience preferred.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports youth to program activities.
• Provide supervision to youth engaged in program activities.
• Maintain attendance records as required by program.
• Assist with program’s grant-required assessments to ensure quality metrics are met.
• Develop and plan weekly activities based on learning objectives; teach group activities.
• Follow program procedures to safeguard health, safety, and well-being of participants.
• Prepare, clean up, and maintain facility daily.
• Assist in providing daily snacks.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and trainings; participate in professional development meetings; provide a safe/healthy environment for participants.
