Job summary

Salt Lake City is seeking an Hourly YouthCity Program Instructor II to supervise elementary and middle school youth and deliver YouthCity afterschool activities. The role supports the afterschool program through 2026-2027 and offers potential extension into the summer 2027 program.

The ideal candidate is at least 21 with a high school diploma, experience with school-aged youth, and a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent and at least 21 years of age.
• Experience with school-aged children, middle school youth, or related experience preferred.
• Possession of valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports youth to program activities.
• Provide supervision to youth engaged in program activities.
• Maintain attendance records as required by the program.
• Assist with program’s grant-required assessments to ensure quality metrics.
• Develop and plan weekly activities based on learning objectives.
• Teach group activities to youth and participate with children.
• Follow safety procedures to safeguard participants.
• Prepare, clean up, and maintain the facility daily.
• Assist with daily snacks.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and training sessions.
• Report daily to the Senior Community Programs Manager.
